Final Summer Getaway

My summer fun is quickly coming to an end. :( But last weekend was a perfect wrap-up. I got to spend my 24th of July weekend at Grandma's Bed & Breakfast. Saturday we enjoyed the short, tractor filled, parade, the park and some fry bread and corn-on-the-cob. We had dinner at the Blue Mountain Dude Ranch. Ahh, the memories! Uncle Barry made us some delish dutch oven potatoes. We ended the day with some amazing fireworks.

(Umm, yes. We are watching fireworks. Dawn! Where's your head?)

Sunday we went to church, took a good Sunday nap, ate some more yummy food, and had a lovely walk with sister, Cohen, and cousins.

Let's not forget the Monday FHE with kabobs and some good pioneer stories!

Why does the summer have to end SO quickly?! It feels like it just began.

CALIFORNIA

My friend Heather and I went to California for a week! It was SO much fun. Many thanks to Heather for fretting and stewing and worrying. AND thanks to her family for the amazing accommodations and food. It was a huge success in my book!

Walk the pier

Chat it up

Day 4
Walk on the beach and collect TONS of sand dollars
Relax
Shopping
Yummy deli
Hang out at the beach
Fish dinner
Wander Morro Bay

Day 5
Morning walk on the beach
Enjoy starfish
Church
Nap
Yummy crockpot dinner
Another walk on the beach

Day 6
Donuts
Walk on the beach
Clean up the beach house
Santa Barbara
Thousand Oaks and some shopping
Bed (exhausted!)

Day 7

No pictures-I know you are sad about that!
Brave the LA traffic to go shopping-find NOTHING
Drive to Vegas
Relax by pool

Day 8
Leave South Point
Wander Vegas
Shop
Drive home :(

Most memorable:
Ice cream everyday! Literally.
Constant road construction
License plate game (found 45!)
The sand dollars
Hanging out at the beach
LOTS of shopping.

Jackson Family Reunion 2011

My family went down to Lake Powell for a few days at the beginning of July. We had lots of fun together...our kind of partying. Here are some of the highlights:
1. Ferry ride
2. Perfect water for swimming
3. First time EVER attempting wakeboarding
4. Floating on the tube
5. Climbing
6. Holding down the "fort"
7. Kim's hurt foot (not so much a highlight, but memorable)
8. No trip to Powell is complete without a storm
9. Chatting and eating
10. Time with my AWESOME family!
